Haiku…

The red sky at night
signals the Shepherd’s delight
Fine weather warning!

Inspiration… I saw a beautiful red sky this evening, as I was driving home from work. It gave me an idea for today’s Haiku.

Apparently, the old saying, ‘Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight. Red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning,’ first appeared in the bible in the Gospel of Matthew.

      Thanks Anna. I herd this on the radio (Chris Evans – Radio 2), this morning: ‘Red sky at nigh, Shepherd’s delight … red sky in the morning, Shepherd’s house on fire’. It made me laugh 🙂

    How beautiful! I haven’t heard that saying in a while; my grandfather used to say it whenever the sky looked that way. Thank you for reminding me of him.
